About
Kite Buggying on Gwithian beach in St Ives Bay, Cornwall is so much fun and an ideal beach sport for all the family. Imagine whizzing along the beach in a 3 wheeled Kite buggy no more than 3″ from the sand, grinning all the way? Welcome to the world of Kite buggying.
Our Kite buggying lessons are split into two lessons. Lesson 1 teaches you to fly foil kites in control with power and Lesson 2 focus`s on piloting the Kite buggy.
Once you have completed our Kite buggy course you can carry on at home in most open areas of ground such as large fields, airfields and of course your local sandy beach where the surface is usually flatter, smoother and the wind is stronger and more consistent.
Kite Buggying Lesson 1
This lesson is all about learning to fly Foil kites safely but with power. Below is a guide tyo what your instructor will teach you.
IKO Level 1A
• Know safe wind directions and conditions for kiting
• Know hazards on a spot
• Set up a trainer kite
• Know the use of safety systems
IKO Level 1B
• Have basic flying skills with trainer kite
• Launch and land the trainer kite with an assistant
• Fly the kite with full use of the wind window
• Twist and untwist the lines while flying the kite
• Walk and change directions while flying the kite
• Simulate traction

Kite Buggying Lesson 2
Now that you are totally in control of your kite we can teach you how to pilot a buggy using your foil kite to pull you along the beach.

• Launch and Steering
• Speed control and Stopping
You will have made a solid beginning into the exciting world of Kite Buggying and Kite sports, from here on in the sky’s the limit! Your instructor will be happy to discuss the various routes of progression, from kite buggy racing, freestyle and just cruising, through to crossing over to kite landboarding and of course kitesurfing. Whatever your flavour, there will be something for you to aim towards.

2 Hour lesson – Maximum 4 students to 1 instructor: £45.00 *
3 Hour lesson – Maximum 4 students to 1 instructor: £60.00
4 Hour lesson – Maximum 4 students to 1 instructor: £75.00
* To join the 2 hour kite buggy lesson you must have Power kite level 1 skills
